Eat your Way to Great Skincare
You've probably heard the old saying, "You are what you eat." Well it's true and if you want to look great, you have to eat great. Eat junk food your appearance is going to look like junk, however if you eat nutritious things that are healthy for you, your skin (and body!) will reflect this. In order to get your skin looking its best there are a few things that should be a regular part of your diet. First of all you must make sure you are eating fruit, legumes, vegetables, and whole grains. Seafood is another great thing to eat that'll help your skin look beautiful especially seafood that is rich in omega oil. Most fruits and vegetables contain a ton of vitamins and minerals that are good for promoting a healthy look.
Have you ever wondered why so many people look healthier during the summer? Yes it’s possible they've been out exercising but another major reason is because they are eating the right foods that are great for their skin. Summer is a time when fruit is plentiful and the day is too short to spend indoors cooking food or standing in queues at a fast food takeaway! Take advantage of what sun there is by sitting outside with a dish of strawberries to snack on, or make slushies with fruit juice. Enjoy the early morning summer sunlight eating a grapefruit in the garden. By eating more fruits you aren’t just putting nutritional goodness into your body, you’re also hydrating your skin with the water inside the fruit.
Many fruits and vegetables contain lycopene which apart from encouraging good health, helps to reduce aging a bit longer. Beta-carotene, also known as vitamin A, which is orange in color and can be found in vegetables like carrots and squash, helps eye sight, the immune system as well as the skin. To help with collagen you may want to eat a bit more vitamin c, which can be found in oranges, strawberries and a few other green vegetables – vitamin C is also great for building up your system against the common cold in the winter.
Don’t forget that while eating the proper things are great for healthy looking skin, so is drinking plenty of water and getting exercise – find a good balance between eating, drinking and moving in the right way and you’re sure to have a great looking skin as well as an awesome body!
