Natural make up
Being a model I have to go to many castings and look natural yet flawless. Unfortunately even the best skin will start to break out and suffer after all the different make up changes that models have to go through on regular basis. This is why it is essential to be able to apply make up that covers up all the imperfections, yet looks very natural.
Below are my tips of keeping beautiful yet natural:
1. Always cleanse your skin before applying make up. I recommend washing your face with Lancome Pearly Foam following by Lancome toner.
2. Use a moisturiser before applying make up as it will help your make up stay in place for longer. I use Lancome Eye Cream and Chanel Hydromax Day Cream.
3. If you have any breakouts, I would highly recommend applying some pure witch hazel gel all over the face. You can buy it from any chemist and it will help heal your skin under the make up. I normally wait until the gel dries on my skin before applying the make up.
4. Start by applying concealer to any blemishes and under the eyes to cover any dark circles. I use Givenchy light reflecting concealer.
5. If you have any spots that are hard to conceal, you can apply Clinique’s Anti-Blemish concealer, which has a thicker formula than the Givenchy one and will also help heal the blemishes.
6. The next step is to apply tinted moisturiser to even up the tone of your face. I use Dior’s one. Be careful when applying the moisturiser not to rub it too much as you can rub off your concealer. It is better to pat it on.
7. Now it is necessary to fix your make up in place with some translucent powder. I use a compact powder from Chanel. It is important to pat it on once again not to mess up the rest of your make up.
8. The finishing touch is to apply a bit of mascara. I like Max Factor’s Volume mascara as it gives a very natural result. Each lash is elongated and separated and it doesn’t look like you are wearing any mascara at all.
9. For the lips I use Chanel’s lipstick in beige. It adds a touch of colour to the lips without them looking too glossy and unnatural. I like number 91 in Positano.
