Botox treatment helps people who suffered a stroke
We all know that Botox treatment helps people temporarily lose their unaesthetic wrinkles but now scientists say that it can also be a great help for people who suffered a stroke.
People who suffer a stroke (known as cerebrovascular accident) can no longer control their movements very well, so a Botox treatment can help them recover their normal functions. Most of them experience pain even when performing simple actions like dressing or even walking.
Botulinum Toxin Type A is a protein made by the bacteria which is responsible for food poisoning, but doctor say that when is purified and injected in small quantities the protein has a very useful effect.
A study on patients who suffered of muscular spasms after experiencing a stroke was made: doctors injected them with Botulinum Toxin Type A and after six weeks the patients state got better and they were able to perform actions which were very painful at first.
